Common questions

Is KidsLearnCash really free?
Yes — completely free. No subscription, no premium tier, no credit card.
Do I need a bank account or debit card for my kid?
No. KidsLearnCash is a tracker, not a bank: it keeps a running balance of what your kid has earned and spent, while the actual money stays wherever you keep it — a piggy bank, an envelope, or your wallet.
How do my kids check their own money?
On a shared device, Kid Mode lets each kid sign in with their own 4-digit PIN and see only their own balance, chores, and goals. Or send a kid an access link to use on their own phone or tablet.
Can both parents use it?
Yes. Sign in with the same account on any number of devices and everything syncs automatically. Relatives can get a separate, limited Family Access view for wishlists and chore suggestions.
What ages does it work for?
Any kid old enough to care about money. Younger kids love watching the balance grow and checking off chores; older kids get savings goals, wishlists, and real sales-tax math on purchases.
How does spending work?
When your kid buys something, record it in the app and the balance goes down — including your state's actual sales tax if you want. You hand over the real cash; the app keeps the ledger straight.
Can grandparents chip in for gifts?
Yes. Share a kid's wishlist link and relatives can see what they're saving for, claim a gift, or contribute money toward it.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Both, plus any computer — it runs in the browser, nothing to install. On a phone you can add it to your home screen and it works like a regular app.
